Building HRIS integrations in-house would take too long
AngelList Equity, which offers modern cap table management for companies, needed to add HRIS integrations to help companies maintain updated stakeholder records.

With Merge’s Unified API, the team has been able to ship several HRIS integrations, which include Gusto, Deel, Justworks, and Rippling.
Once an AngelList Equity customer connects their HRIS, relevant employee information is synced with the cap table, which automates the following cap table workflows:
- Once a new hire is added to a customer’s HRIS solution, their profile gets created in AngelList Equity, which includes their full name, start date, job title, address, etc.
- When employee information changes in the customer’s HRIS solution, it syncs with AngelList Equity.
- Once an employee is marked as terminated in the customer’s HRIS solution, any necessary updates to equity awards are queued in AngelList Equity—making it easier to manage vesting.
Closing hundreds of deals by supporting HRIS integration requests in different regions
Dan explains that the HRIS integrations are a top request from prospective customers.
“Companies typically maintain one system for equity compensation and another for cash compensation. So, integrations are essential for HR teams,” explains Dan.
He also points out that their customers have international team members. As a result, Dan’s team receives a diverse set of HRIS integration requests. Merge has proven useful in helping them meet these requests and delivering additional value to customers.
